High Peak MP Ruth George has been asked to nominate an outstanding High Peak business to a parliamentary Responsible Business Scheme. The Labour MP was asked by the All-Party Parliamentary Corporate Responsibility Group (APCRG) to nominate a business that has had a positive impact on a High Peak community.

Ruth George’s nomination will be invited to the Responsible Business Champions reception in Parliament on 22 November and be considered for the National Responsible Business Champion Award which celebrates the work of businesses that provide support to their local communities, offer apprenticeships and training to all as well as promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Previous winners include large companies such as Manchester Airport and small local companies such as artisan bread makers Specialty Breads.

Ruth said of the nomination: “High Peak is a place where business and community work closely and we have many wonderful examples of businesses who have achieved great success while benefiting the communities of their customers and staff. There are so many great examples of responsible business in High Peak, I know it will be difficult to choose just one!”.
