Stunning bronze sculptures, beautifully patterned glassware, vivid landscapes, wildlife pictures, contemporary scenes and more besides are on show in Jarva Gallery's Christmas exhibition.

This year's showcase of British creative talents features eight different artists, mostly from around Derbyshire and surrounding areas. Some of their names may already be familiar, while others are making their first appearance.

All works are available to buy. Lyndsey Selley, who owns the gallery on Market Street, believes the exhibition is one of the best yet. "We have such a range of work on show and it's the perfect time of year for people treating themselves and others for Christmas. If you love art and unique, original works and craftsmanship, you will not be disappointed."

Among the exhibitors is Harry Frost, a young up-and-coming artist from Furness Vale, who has created some very atmospheric, contemporary scenes.

Lyndsey is also delighted to include some of the world renowned sculpture by David Meredith. "We have all his new bronze range on show," Lyndsey told us. "One of the hares is 2ft long but we have his smaller pieces of bears and birds as well."

Others featured are:

* Steve Mcloughlin - textured scenes painted in oils

* Lindsay Norman - pastel wildlife with a modern twist

* Thomas Petit - amazing hand blown glass vessels and bottles, using beautiful patterns and colours

* Jill Ray - contemporary landscapes with a traditional edge and wonderful use of colour.

* Suzy Shackleton - fun and uplifting, contemporary felt art,

* Ella Vogels - very fine realism, detailed wildlife watercolour paintings

The exhibition runs from now until Christmas Eve. Open on Sundays through December, 11am–4pm. For other times: check the website
