Cobden Edge Marple Churches Together

A cross has stood on Cobden Edge since 1970 when it was erected by members of Marple Churches Together and it has been a well-known local landmark since then, until damaged in the storms of December 2015.

On 16 July 2018, two weeks after the removal of the T-shaped remains of the old structure, a new cross was erected in its place and it now overlooks the same surrounding area as its predecessor.

A short Celebration and Thanksgiving service has been planned by Marple Churches Together at the new cross on Sunday 16 September at 4pm. Car parking at Linnet Clough scout camp is available from 3.15pm to allow enough time for walking up to the cross.
