Jodrell Arms Remembrance Sunday Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

On Saturday 10 November at 10.45am, a short service of remembrance will take place around the memorial cross at the Jodrell Arms.

Following the laying of wreaths, the Last Post will sound at 11am.On Remembrance Sunday, 11 November 2018, acts of remembrance and laying of wreaths will take place as follows: 

  • 9.15am Bridgemont War Memorial
  • 9.35am Furness Vale War Memorial 
  • 10.30am Whaley Bridge War Memorial in the park – where Scouts, Guides and other groups will take part and the Last Post will sound at 11am
  • 3pm Kettleshulme War Memorial 

Wreaths are already on order for the organisations taking part. Individual members of the public who would like to lay a wreath should request one from John Baker on 0793 888 1096 no later than 7 October. 


The Royal British Legion are looking for help with this year’s Poppy Appeal, which raises money to help those in need within the Armed Forces community. If you’d like to assist by selling poppies and will be available at various times between 9am and 5pm from Monday 29 October to Saturday 10 November, please contact John Baker on 0793 888 1096 or 01663 719446.
