November 11 2018 will mark one hundred years since the Armistice which effectively ended the First World War, bringing an end to hostilities on the Western Front. Following completion of the £112k upgrade to Marple Skatepark in March last year Friends of Memorial Park have not been resting on their laurels. The improvements to the skatepark were extremely well received by wheeled sports users and parents alike and its launch was celebrated with an exhibition by professional skateboard, BMX and scooter riders during Marple Carnival in June 2017.

He is a trained counsellor and has many years of experience in social care.
